Our Ethics

Our ethics are simple:

The Golden Rule –“Treat others the way you would have others treat you”

This humble axiom is hard to beat. In our opinion, this simple saying has it all, honesty, trustworthiness, open communication, this is the driving force behind our mode of doing business. Bringing real respect to another individual, their family and property always takes you in the right direction and often works magic.

Forty years ago, my father told me to bear in mind three things when doing business. First, be on time, second, “please and thank you” still go a long way, and third, always do a little more than you or ask to do. Pretty simple stuff, but still valid. My father was a salesman in a national-based company. He apparently knew something about human nature; he was in fact the only salesman in the history of the company to achieve its sales goals for 20 consecutive years in a row!

Two of my favorite authors are Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain. Both had a wry sense of humor and deep insights into human nature. Here are some quotes I often try to remember, I’m not sure they are really “ethics” but close enough.

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”
Mark Twain

“The human race has only one really effective weapon and that is laughter”
Mark Twain

“Speak ill of no man, but speak all the good you know of everybody”
Benjamin Franklin

“Trickery and treachery are the practices of fools that have not the wits enough to be honest”
Benjamin Franklin
