Dear Mr. Birx,

“Thank you for your excellent service, feel free
to add my name and title to the testimonials.”

Charles (Charlie) Owens, President & CEO
Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra

January 30, 2009

Dear Bill,

Thank you for all of your work this Winter. Charlie and I are very grateful for your time, your expertise, and, most importantly, your work ethic.

Over the last few years, we have hired many workers for home improvement projects, and we have never felt compelled to write a thank you note. However, you (and Guy) offer the best quality service and the best customer service that we have ever experienced, and we wanted to let you know how much we appreciate everything that you have done for us.

As you know, due to tree branches in the pipes, our basement flooded with city sewer water earlier this season. Fortunately, we were able to bring in a plumber at short notice, but we had absolutely no idea how to dry, disinfect, and sanitize the lower level. We were particularly concerned about it being clean, because it is our children’s playroom. We couldn’t risk poor air quality or any kind of mold. We asked the plumber, and he recommended All Dry and gave us your contact information.

Thank you again for coming so quickly, attending to the problem so efficiently and effectively, and explaining the entire process to us throughout the job. Our family has enjoyed the playroom during these many weeks of freezing weather, and we are confident that – due to your meticulous work – it is once again,
a clean, safe place for the kids to play. That peace of mind is invaluable; thank you.

When we had a leak (on Christmas Eve day, no less), at least we knew who could help us. Your expertise, and suggestions (based on actual data and the information you were able to provide with the infrared camera) eliminated
the “guess-work” of trying to identify the source of the water.

Ultimately, being able to give that information to the roofing company, as well as the insurance company, saved us a considerable amount of time and money. The roofer revised his original idea of what needed to be fixed, and we are now able to proceed by actually addressing the problem area of our roof, instead of trying multiple areas (at great expense) to locate the location of the leak. Again, your expertise, and the scientific information you provided made a tremendous difference to us.

Emergency home repairs are never easy and never the way homeowners want to spend their time, energy, or money. Thank you for making ours as easy and cost-effective as possible.

You and Guy provided excellent workmanship, unparalleled customer service, and a unique, critical service that we couldn’t handle ourselves.

Thank you both. We will call with any other projects, and will enthusiastically recommend you to neighbors and friends.

Take care,
I unconditionally recommend his service.

Dick Timian, Director of Human Resources
Rochester Rehabilitation Center

Sent to the Greater Rochester Amica Claims
Late yesterday Bill Birx stopped in my office. I have seen Bill's work in the past and it is top notch. He knows what he is doing and probably is the best at what he does, which is what we want for our insureds.

Robert G. You don't simply use the same process for the various problems that arise. You realize that different kinds of damage require different types of cleaning methods and products. You know when something can be repaired properly versus simply disposing and wasting. The All Dry team has always been honest, timely, and pleasant. Should you ever need to use this note as a recommendation, please feel free to do so. I would not use anyone else for water or fire restoration.

Steve Watters, Manager
Turk Hill Park (office and industrial space) and former Senior Adjuster (9 yrs) for Aetna/Travelers

I first met Bill Birx at the site of an extensive fire loss with heavy water damage. The homeowner and first restoration contractor had mutually parted ways. Bill was asked to step into a difficult situation. In no time he had won over the homeowners and completed an outstanding restoration effort. For the next 8 years I worked exclusively with All Dry on all types of restoration claims including: fire, smoke, water, sewer back up, carpet staining, crime scene clean up, etc. Bill and his staff are friendly, innovative and thoroughly professional. I never encountered a loss that couldn't be handled by Birx. As far as I am concerned, All Dry is simply the best restoration contractor in business. He would be the only contractor I allowed in my own home!

Robert C. Algier CPCU, AIC,10 years Senior Property Adjuster
Amica Mutual Insurance Company

Looking for first rate, honest and efficient service? It doesn't start with marketing. It begins with the character and integrity of the person who delivers the service. Bill Birx's sterling character and focus on quality have been the driving force behind his business for decades. Bill Birx and his team at All Dry Now have my highest recommendation for honest work delivered on cost, quality and schedule that will solve your toughest problems.

CAPT W. Scott Gould, USNR (Ret.)
Homeowner

I want to thank you very much for your outstanding service and assistance with the recent water damage to my basement. Your quick and professional response to the problem saved my finished basement, and thus saved me considerable money and headaches. I was impressed by your outstanding practical knowledge of the "physics" of drying, allowing you to accelerate the drying process considerably (also resulting in further cost savings). In addition, I very much appreciate your honesty regarding what could be repaired and what should be thrown away. In the past 8 years we have had the need call on All Dry several times and could not be more pleased with the service we have received.

Todd Krauss, Professor of Chemistry
University of Rochester

We would like to send a letter of testimony regarding our tremendous satisfaction with the service you provided us at a time most needed. The Christmas eve flooding our of finished basement and the thought of losing all the materials that were there, including furniture, photo albums, record albums and hundreds of books struck horror into our hearts. You came in and assured us we had called in time and within a few hours calmed our worries and within a few days, everything was salvaged. The loss of the carpeting helped speed the drying process as you assured us it would. We were able to go on with our holiday plans for two parties that were held in that space. It was amazing.

Your calm attitude and your persistence, your offer of being available 24/7 brought the kind of emotional support that made it possible to get through the days. The most amazing part, Bill, was your assistance in getting insurance coverage for us after the company's original rejection of our request. We are in awe.

Thank you so much for making lemonade out of what surely smelled only of possible mold. We'd recommend you in a heartbeat and have already done so to Meyers in Fairport who have taken over the work previously done by McKenna
Plumbing.

Best to you. We hope to see you again over coffee, not basement water.

Elizabeth Osta & Dave Van Arsdale
Homeowners

Exposure to mold can occur when airborne mold cells, mostly spores, are inhaled. We breathe in these cells every day, indoors and out. Usually these exposures do not present a health risk. But when exposure is great, some individuals, particularly those with allergies and asthma, can experience illness that could be mild to serious or anywhere in between. The following is a description of the health problems that can be caused by exposure to mold.

Click here to learn more about our mold & mildew removal process or call now for a mold inspection (585) 234-4444

Allergic Illness
When mold cells are inhaled and land in the respiratory tract, the body’s immune system’s response to those invading cells can cause allergic illness. The immune system tries to destroy the mold as it would an agent, like a flu virus, that might cause infection. In a relatively small portion of the population (about 10 percent of people in the U.S.), the immune system overreacts and causes the allergic response that results in symptoms such as runny nose, scratchy throat and sneezing. Most of us know this allergic illness as “hay fever” or “allergic rhinitis.”

Asthma
Asthma is a lung disease in which the airways that carry oxygen to the lungs can partially close, causing breathing difficulties ranging from mild (such as a dry cough) to life-threatening (inability to breathe). North Carolina is in the midst of what is being called a world-wide asthma epidemic. A recent survey of North Carolina middle school children revealed that 10 percent had been diagnosed with asthma and another 17 percent had asthma symptoms that had never been diagnosed. More than half of asthmatics have respiratory allergies, often to mold. Molds can trigger asthma episodes in sensitive asthmatics.

Infection
Some mold species can cause respiratory infection when the live mold invades the tissues of the lungs or respiratory tract. This is not a significant risk for healthy people, but can be dangerous for individuals with severely weakened immune systems.

Toxic Effects
Very large doses of certain molds, whether inhaled or ingested, can result in poisoning caused by toxins, called mycotoxins, in the mold cells. It is not clear whether an individual can receive a high enough exposure to mold growing indoors to experience these toxic effects.

One particular type of mold that has been recently highlighted in the media is Stachybotrys chartarum (also known as Stachybotrys atra). Stachybotrys is a greenish-black mold that grows on materials with high cellulose content (drywall, wood, paper, ceiling tiles) that are chronically wet or moist. It is one of several molds that can produce mycotoxins under certain environmental conditions. The health effects of breathing mycotoxins are not well understood, but we do know that most molds can present some health risks, such as allergic reactions. Therefore, any mold growth in a building should be cleaned up, regardless of the type of mold. For additional information see Questions and Answers on Stachybotrys chartarum and other molds on the National Center for Environmental Health website.

Mold – Severe

This photograph illustrates severe mold infestation. Professional remediation by a certified contractor is the only way to safely remove this contamination. In this particular project there was actually thousands of square feet which looked this contaminated.

Water intrusion in this building had taken place over many weeks, possibly months, before discovery. This situation did become the “perfect storm”. Moisture, temperature, food source, no air movement, no light, this project at all the attributes of a perfect environment for mold growth. We completed this project in a matter of weeks, extensive demolition and professional dehumidification where necessary.
